11 models are confirmed on sale in Japan, and Meta supports 1 more model there through its brand-level country list.
Meta's glasses reached Japan on 21 May 2026. The launch covered Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, the prescription-first Optics frames, and Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard, with Meta's own yen prices on this page. A June 2026 update added full device operation in Japanese, so prompts, voice commands and settings can run in Japanese and not just in English. Meta Glasses and Meta Ray-Ban Display are not on Meta's list for Japan. Some services are missing from the data too: Japan was not in Meta's December 2025 list of countries for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Shazam voice control. Japan has a strong display-glasses market: XREAL runs a Japanese store for the 1S, the ROG XREAL R1 and accessories. Japanese buyers should compare yen prices directly, since they are set locally.

Buying notes
- Ray-Ban Meta Optics prices in Japan exclude prescription lenses, which are sold separately through opticians. See Optics prescription.
- The ROG XREAL R1 is listed as available on XREAL's Japan store, while the UK and EU stores showed it as coming soon.
- Live translation includes Japanese, but it needs a data connection. Offline packs cover six languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and German.

Yes. Japanese is one of the 13 Meta AI languages, and Meta's June 2026 update added full device operation in Japanese.
Is Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 sold in Japan?
Meta's brand-level country list includes Japan for Ray-Ban Meta, but we have not found a confirmed Japanese price for Gen 3. The models with published yen prices are Gen 2 and Optics.
