Be My Eyes
Hands-free video call from the glasses camera to a sighted Be My Eyes volunteer (or a company's support agent) for people who are blind or have low vision.[1]
Be My Eyes connects a blind or low-vision person with a sighted volunteer over a video call. On Meta's AI glasses the call runs from the frame camera, so the volunteer sees what you are facing and you keep both hands free for a cane, a guide dog's harness or the object you need help with. Meta says the volunteer call works on all of its AI glasses; Meta Ray-Ban Display gained it in its April 2026 software update. It is not offered on Ray-Ban Stories. Where it works
Ten of the biggest markets are shown. A tick needs an official statement for that country; "Not confirmed" means the maker hasn't said either way. For any other country use the lookup.

How it works
You install the Be My Eyes phone app, sign in as someone who needs visual assistance, then connect it from the glasses' device settings in the Meta AI app. After that, saying "Hey Meta, Be My Eyes" places a call to the next available volunteer. The video comes from the glasses camera and the audio plays through the open-ear speakers, while the phone handles the connection in the background. Be My Eyes states that the volunteer only sees the camera feed during the call and that snapshots taken during the call are deleted when it ends. To hang up, double-tap the touchpad on the right arm or end the call in the phone app. The full official steps are on how to use Be My Eyes.
Turn it on
- Pair the glasses in the Meta AI app.
- In Meta AI app settings > Accessibility, link your Be My Eyes account.
- Say "Hey Meta, Be My Eyes" to start a call.
Tips
- On an iPhone, set call audio routing to automatic in the Accessibility settings. Meta lists this as a setup step, and Be My Eyes says a Speaker setting causes audio problems.
- Use the longer phrase "Hey Meta, call a volunteer with Be My Eyes" if the short command is not picked up.
- Describe what you need in the first few seconds, since the volunteer starts with no context beyond your camera view.
Limits
- Meta says the volunteer call is available in English in "supported countries" but does not publish that list. Be My Eyes publishes its own country list, which is what the table below uses.
- Be My Eyes notes that not every Meta AI language supports its voice commands yet. If yours does not, Meta AI tells you when you try.
- The call depends on your phone's data connection, because the glasses relay video through the phone.
Questions people ask
Does Meta see the Be My Eyes video?
Be My Eyes says Meta does not have access to the video call or to snapshots taken during it. The volunteer can see your camera feed only while the call is live.
Can I use Be My Eyes on Meta Ray-Ban Display?
Yes. Meta added Be My Eyes to Meta Ray-Ban Display in its April 2026 software update. Setup is the same as on the camera glasses without a display.
Which models do not support it?
Ray-Ban Stories, the first Ray-Ban and Facebook model, is not supported. Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera, so a video call from the frame is not possible on it.
