Hearing enhancement (FDA-cleared)
Paid software feature for adults with mild-to-moderate hearing loss that turns supported glasses into an over-the-counter hearing-assistance device.[1]
Hearing enhancement is an announced, paid software add-on that Meta says will turn supported AI glasses into an over-the-counter hearing-assistance device for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. Meta describes it as FDA-cleared and says setup happens at home, without a clinic visit or prescription. It will cost $149.99 as a one-time purchase, which Meta says is HSA/FSA eligible, or come with a Meta One subscription. Meta says it launches in the US later this year. It is different from the free conversation focus voice boost.

How it works
Meta's Connect 2026 announcement describes software that adjusts the glasses' audio for your hearing, with options to shift the balance toward your left or right ear or send all sound to one side as mono audio. Once bought, you start it with "Hey Meta, start Hearing Enhancement". Meta has not yet published a help-center article, so the setup flow, the hearing check and the controls are not documented in the material we track. Meta also says "supported AI Glasses" without naming which models, so the table on this page shows it as announced across the lineup until Meta says otherwise.
Turn it on
- Purchase the feature ($149.99 one-time, or via Meta One) when it launches.
- Say "Hey Meta, start Hearing Enhancement".
Tips
- Check your HSA or FSA plan before buying; Meta's eligibility note asks you to confirm with your plan.
- Compare the one-time price with Meta One if you already pay for, or plan to take, that subscription.
- If your hearing loss is more than mild to moderate, talk to an audiologist; Meta describes the product for that range only.
Limits
- Announced, not available. Meta says US only at launch.
- Meta has not named which glasses models are supported.
- Adults only, with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, per Meta.
