Navigation on the display (walking, cycling, transit)

Shows a map and turn-by-turn directions in the Meta Ray-Ban Display lens; cycling and transit directions were added in Sept 2026.[1]

Meta Ray-Ban Display shows a map and turn-by-turn directions in its lens, so you can follow a route without holding your phone. Walking directions came first, launched by Meta as a beta in select cities. In September 2026 Meta added cycling directions and live transit departures, plus walking prompts that point to things you can see, such as a building, rather than street names. Coverage is wide in North America and city-by-city elsewhere. Screenless Meta glasses have a spoken version, audio walking directions.

Where it works

Ten of the biggest markets are shown. A tick needs an official statement for that country; "Not confirmed" means the maker hasn't said either way. For any other country use the lookup.

How it works

From the display home, swipe down and open Maps. You can use Dictation Search to say a place name, or browse nearby cafes, restaurants, parks and attractions on the map. Select a place, then Start. Arrows and distances appear in the lens; the Neural Band lets you swipe to the full map, and you can mute the spoken prompts or end the route from the same screen. You can also skip the menus and ask "Hey Meta" for directions. Meta's directions article asks you to give the Meta AI app location access set to always and precise, since the phone supplies the position. Step-by-step instructions are on how to get walking directions.

Turn it on

  1. Ask "Hey Meta, directions to [place]" or search from the Maps app on the glasses.
  2. Follow the heads-up arrows; swipe with the Neural Band to see the map.

Questions people ask

Does Meta Ray-Ban Display have cycling directions?

Yes. Meta added turn-by-turn cycling directions and live transit departures to the display in September 2026.

Why is navigation limited to some cities?

Meta rolls the feature out by location and lists specific cities in some countries. Outside those areas the Maps option may not start a route.
