How to reset the Meta glasses charging case

The case is its own small device, with a battery, charging contacts and firmware, and it can get stuck separately from the glasses. A case reset is worth trying when the case will not charge the glasses, shows a charging error that cleaning and a new cable don't clear, or behaves oddly after an update. There are three different methods. Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta use a long press on the back button. Meta Glasses use a button inside. Display uses the USB-C cable itself.

Questions people ask

What does a red blinking case light mean?

Meta calls it a charging error. It lists liquid on the contacts, high temperature and an incompatible charger as causes: wipe the contacts, move the case somewhere cooler, or try another cable and adapter. See case lights.
