Conversation focus
Amplifies the voice of the person in front of you in noisy places using the open-ear speakers and directional mics.[1]
Conversation focus boosts the voice of the person in front of you when a restaurant, bar or train platform is loud. It uses the glasses' open-ear speakers and microphones, so there is nothing to put in your ears. Meta introduced it for Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN through the Early Access Program. Meta states it is not available on Ray-Ban Meta optics, Meta Glasses or Meta Ray-Ban Display. It is free during Early Access, and Meta says it may require a paid subscription later. It is not a hearing aid; Meta's separate hearing enhancement product is aimed at that.
Where it works
Ten of the biggest markets are shown. A tick needs an official statement for that country; "Not confirmed" means the maker hasn't said either way. For any other country use the lookup.

How it works
Meta says the feature uses the open-ear speakers to amplify the voice of the person you are talking to. You start it by saying "Hey Meta, start conversation focus" or from the Conversation focus option under Glasses in the Meta AI app, and the first run walks you through a short audio tour. Swiping forward on the touchpad raises the amplification and swiping back lowers it. To end it, say "Hey Meta, stop conversation focus", or take the glasses off and fold the arms closed. The official steps are on how to use conversation focus.
Turn it on
- Say "Hey Meta, start conversation focus" or assign it to a touchpad long-press.
- Adjust the amplification level; say "Hey Meta, stop conversation focus" to end.
Tips
- Join Early Access first; the feature does not appear without it. See how to join Early Access.
- Assign it to a touchpad long-press if you use it often, so you can start it without speaking in a loud room.
- Face the person you want to hear. Meta describes the boost as aimed at the person you are talking to.
Limits
- Country information conflicts. A June 2026 release note lists a long set of countries, while the feature article and the Early Access article say the US and Canada. We mark it as limited until Meta reconciles the two.
- Meta names Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN. Support on Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, Gen 3 and Oakley Meta Vanguard is not confirmed.
- Free for now, with a possible paid subscription later, per Meta.
Questions people ask
Is conversation focus a hearing aid?
No. It is a voice boost for noisy places. Meta has announced a separate, FDA-cleared hearing enhancement product for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss.
Why can't I find it on Meta Ray-Ban Display?
Meta states the feature is not available on Meta Ray-Ban Display, Meta Glasses or Ray-Ban Meta optics.
