Phone or device not supported / no video over USB-C

Applies to XREAL 1S, XREAL One and XREAL One Pro.

XREAL One series glasses are a display, not a computer, so they need a source that sends video out of its USB-C port. XREAL's requirement is DisplayPort output over USB-C plus enough power for the glasses. Many phones and some laptops lack it. HDMI devices such as consoles and desktop PCs need an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter that also powers the glasses. Nintendo Switch needs the XREAL Hub with power so the console switches to TV mode.

Official steps

  1. Check that the device's USB-C port supports DisplayPort video output and supplies 5V/1A to the glasses.
  2. For HDMI devices (PlayStation, Xbox, desktop PCs), use an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter that also powers the glasses; XREAL support or the online store can recommend one.
  3. For Nintendo Switch / Switch OLED, use the XREAL Hub with power: plug in the Hub's power, plug the Hub into the Switch, wait for TV mode (the Switch screen turns off), then connect the glasses. Detach the Joy-Cons to play.

Still not working?

If your device should support DisplayPort output and still shows nothing, contact the device maker or XREAL support with the exact model. For phones without video output, XREAL also sells Beam Pro as a dedicated source device. See DisplayPort over USB-C and compatibility.

Questions people ask

Does my iPhone work with XREAL One?

Only USB-C models with DisplayPort video output. XREAL's list says Lightning iPhones, iPhone 14 and earlier, cannot connect.

Does Samsung DeX work with XREAL One?

Yes. XREAL's compatibility list says Android desktop mode, such as Samsung DeX, is supported on phones with DisplayPort output.

Which cable should I use?

XREAL says devices with a USB-C port that supports DP output connect directly using the cable included in the box. Try that cable before a third-party one.
