Black screen / no image

Applies to XREAL 1S, XREAL One and XREAL One Pro.

A black screen on XREAL One series glasses can mean very different things, and XREAL's guide sorts them by what you see. No XREAL logo points to the cable or the source device. A "Please reconnect" message means no DisplayPort video is arriving over USB-C. A black view with no warning may just be Anchor mode with the screen out of sight, fixed by recentering. A single black app usually means copy protection that blocks external displays.

Official steps

  1. Unplug and reconnect the cable a few times.
  2. If the XREAL logo doesn't appear: check the cable is firmly seated, use the official cable, and test with a known DP-output device (e.g. Steam Deck or Mac). Contact support if it still fails.
  3. If you see 'Please reconnect' or a similar warning, the glasses aren't getting a DP signal. Confirm your device supports DP video output over USB-C, then contact the device maker or XREAL support.
  4. If the screen is black with no warning, you may be in Anchor mode with the screen out of view. Long-press the X button to recenter.
  5. If only one app is black, reconnect and relaunch it. Some apps use DRM/HDCP protection that blocks external displays; send XREAL support your device model and the app name.
  6. Otherwise reconnect and contact XREAL support.

Steps from the maker's support pages.[1]

Still not working?

If none of those fit, contact XREAL support. Give the glasses model, the source device and port, the cable you used, and the app if only one is affected. XREAL specifically asks for the device model and app name for DRM cases.
