Meta Neural Band
Meta Neural Band is a wearable controller from Meta. It starts at $199 in the United States (replacement price reported by press; included with Meta Ray-Ban Display). Meta sells or supports it in 6 countries. Meta Neural Band went on sale in September 2025.
The Neural Band is a controller, not a fitness tracker or a watch. It uses surface EMG, reading the electrical signals from muscles in your wrist, and turns small finger movements into commands for Meta Ray-Ban Display. Meta lists three gestures: double-tap your middle finger on your thumb to wake or sleep the display, swipe your thumb along your index finger to scroll, and tap index finger to thumb to select. With neural handwriting, you can trace letters on a table or your leg to reply to messages. It ships with Display, comes in three sizes and is rated IPX7. Our Neural Band guide covers the mechanism.
Good fit
Meta Ray-Ban Display owners, and anyone choosing Display who wants to know how the control scheme works before buying.
Look elsewhere if
Anyone without Display: the band does not control other Meta glasses. For camera glasses with no screen, see Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3.

Limitations to know before you buy
- It requires Meta Ray-Ban Display, a supported phone, a Meta account and the Meta AI app.
- The band pairs separately from the glasses in the Meta AI app, so setup has two steps.
- Neural handwriting is English-only in the countries Meta lists and needs WhatsApp or Messenger connected.
- A standalone price is not shown on Meta's readable store page. The replacement price in the table comes from press.
- There is no display, camera or speaker on the band itself, so it adds nothing on its own.
- Meta does not sell a version that works with Ray-Ban Meta or Oakley Meta camera glasses.

Questions people ask
What does EMG mean on the Meta Neural Band?
EMG stands for electromyography. The band reads electrical signals from your wrist muscles as you move your fingers, so small gestures register without a camera watching your hand.
How long does the Neural Band battery last?
Meta quotes up to 18 hours. That is longer than the glasses' six hours, so the glasses usually need charging first.
Which hand should I wear the Neural Band on?
Meta says your writing hand, just past the wrist bone, with the line facing you and a snug fit. The band comes in three sizes.
How much does Meta Neural Band cost?
$199 in the United States, per Meta's list prices.
Which countries is Meta Neural Band sold in?
Meta lists 6 countries: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and United States. Bought elsewhere, it may work, but features and support can be missing.
Can I get Meta Neural Band with prescription lenses?
No. Meta does not offer prescription lenses for Meta Neural Band.
Does Meta Neural Band work with iPhone and Android?
It pairs through the Meta AI app. iPhone needs iOS 17.2 or later; Android needs Android 10 or later.
Is Meta Neural Band waterproof?
No. It is rated IPX7, which covers splashes and sweat, not swimming or submersion.
