Best AR glasses in 2026: see-through and video options
'AR glasses' gets used for two different things. Some people mean glasses that overlay information on the real world, like Meta Ray-Ban Display or RayNeo X3 Pro. Others mean video glasses from XREAL and VITURE that show a large virtual screen you can pin in place. Spatial AR, with apps placed around a room and hand tracking, is only starting to reach glasses. This page covers devices on sale in each group. Worth waiting for: XREAL AURA on Android XR, planned for fall 2026 at no more than $1,500 for the base model, and Snap Specs at $2,195, which Snap says ships later this fall.

- Best for 6DoF and hand gestures: VITURE Luma Ultra
- Best standalone see-through AR: RayNeo X3 Pro
- Best everyday heads-up display: Meta Ray-Ban Display
How we ranked
Ranked by published display type (see-through waveguide or video glasses), field of view, brightness, tracking (3DoF, 6DoF, hand tracking), whether the device runs apps on its own or needs a phone or PC, US price and countries sold. All figures are the makers' or press-reported, and we did not test tracking or picture quality. Our AR vs AI glasses guide explains the categories. Where two official figures disagree, as with VITURE's myopia range, we print both.
1. Best AR screen glasses
XREAL 1S
- From
- $449
- Display
- Yes
- Camera
- No
XREAL's current main model pins a virtual screen in place with native 3DoF, using Anchor, Follow and Ultra-wide modes, at 1920x1200 per eye and 52 degrees. Add the $99 XREAL Eye clip-in camera for 6DoF anchoring. It converts 2D video to 3D on the glasses and sells across XREAL's US, UK, EU and Japan stores for $449 in the US.
Watch out: It mirrors your device and has no apps of its own. Rated at 700 nits, and it needs a USB-C DisplayPort source. XREAL doesn't recommend its 3D conversion for office work or reading text.
2. Best for 6DoF and hand gestures
VITURE Luma Ultra
- From
- $599
- Display
- Yes
- Camera
- Yes
Luma Ultra adds a front RGB camera and two grayscale depth cameras for 6DoF tracking and hand gestures, so it can do more than hold a flat screen in place. It uses Sony micro-OLED at 1200p, 52 degrees, 1,500 nits and up to 120Hz, with built-in myopia adjustment. $599. It connects to USB-C DisplayPort devices. VITURE also sells a Luma prescription lens frame for prescriptions beyond the dial.
Watch out: Listed for the US only. Camera resolution isn't published, and the myopia range conflicts: -4.0D on the product page, -6.0D in the buying guide.
3. Best standalone see-through AR
RayNeo X3 Pro
- From
- $1,299
- Display
- Yes
- Camera
- Yes
A full-color micro-LED waveguide in both lenses at 640x480 and 30 degrees, which RayNeo rates at 3,500 nits average. It runs RayNeo AIOS with Gemini on a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 with 4GB/32GB, so it doesn't mirror a phone screen, and it has a 12MP camera. Sold in the US, UK, France, Italy and Germany.
Watch out: $1,299 and 76 g, with no published battery figure. Prescription lenses come through partner Lensology, and RayNeo sells it in five countries.
4. Best everyday heads-up display
Meta Ray-Ban Display
- From
- $799
- Display
- Yes
- Camera
- Yes
- Prescription
- -4.00 to +4.00 total power (single vision only)
Not spatial AR, but the most complete see-through display for daily use: a full-color 600x600 screen in the right lens, the Neural Band for gestures, and Meta AI with visual answers, captions, messages and directions. $799 with the band. Answers to look and ask appear in the lens as well as being spoken.
Watch out: Monocular with a 20-degree view, so apps don't surround you. Sold in six countries, with Rx from -4.00 to +4.00 only, at 69 g.
Questions people ask
What is the difference between 3DoF and 6DoF?
3DoF tracks head rotation, so a screen stays put as you turn. 6DoF also tracks movement through space, so you can lean toward content or move around it. XREAL adds 6DoF to its One series glasses with the clip-in XREAL Eye.
Are Apple Vision Pro and Galaxy XR AR glasses?
They're headsets, at 750 to 800 g and 545 g, with external batteries and roughly 2 to 3 hours of rated use. They are mixed-reality headsets, not glasses you wear around town. See Galaxy XR vs Vision Pro.
