How to factory reset the glasses (e.g. before selling or giving them away)
Applies to Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), Meta Glasses (Adventurer, Fury, Starfire, Capri, Nova), Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2), Oakley Meta Vanguard, Meta Ray-Ban Display, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Oakley Meta HSTN, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) and Ray-Ban Stories.
A factory reset returns the glasses to their out-of-the-box state, which Meta suggests before you sell or give them away. It is done on the glasses with the arms folded, using a sequence of capture-button presses while the LED changes color. Import any photos and videos you want to keep first, because the reset clears the glasses. The new owner will also need the pair removed from your Meta account, since only one account can be paired at a time.
Official steps
- Make sure your glasses are out of their case, charged, and powered on.
- Fold both glasses arms closed.
- With the arms folded, press the capture button 5 times. The LED turns orange.
- Press and hold the capture button. Release when the LED flashes.

Still not working?
If the LED does not respond to the button sequence, charge the glasses and make sure they are out of the case and powered on, then try again. If the reset still will not take, contact Meta support before handing the glasses over, so the next owner is not stuck with a pair linked to your account. See factory reset steps.
