How long can Meta glasses record video?
Each clip has a cap. Meta's help center sets the default maximum at 3 minutes in full HD for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta HSTN and Meta Glasses, and 5 minutes on Oakley Meta Vanguard. Meta Ray-Ban Display also defaults to 3 minutes.
You choose the cap yourself. In the Meta AI app, open your glasses, then Media and Video settings, to change maximum video length, frame rate and resolution. Shorter limits are offered as well. The official walk-through is on our photo and video how-to. Older Ray-Ban and Oakley FAQ pages still describe a 30-second default that can be raised to 3 minutes; Meta's current help center gives 3 minutes as the default maximum.
Resolution changes the ceiling. Meta says you can record in 3K for up to 3 minutes. On Vanguard, slow motion runs up to one minute and hyperlapse up to 30 minutes, which makes hyperlapse the longest single capture Meta documents. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) cannot change resolution at all, and it launched with clips of up to 60 seconds.
Battery settings cut the cap. With battery saver on, Meta limits clips to 1 minute at 1080p and 30 fps until the glasses charge back up. Video also needs a minimum charge to start, which depends on battery temperature: roughly 10% at 25 C. If a recording refuses to start, see video won't start on low battery.
Over a whole charge, Ray-Ban's FAQ says the glasses can capture and sync up to 25 thirty-second videos or up to 500 photos. That is a battery figure, not a storage one. For capacity, see how much storage Meta glasses have. If you plan to film a lot in one day, carry the case: it recharges the glasses between sessions, and Meta lists 36 to 50 extra hours of charge in the cases of current camera models.

Can Meta glasses record for an hour straight?
Not as a normal video. Clips stop at the maximum you set, so a long event means starting new clips. The longest single capture Meta documents is a Vanguard hyperlapse of up to 30 minutes.
Does recording stop if I say so?
Yes. Say "Hey Meta, stop" or press the capture button again. The white capture LED stays on or blinks for the whole recording, so people nearby can see it.
