Specs with prescription lenses

Snap Inc. offers prescription lenses for Specs but has not published a range.[1]

Specs are Snap's announced AR glasses, with pre-orders open since June 2026 and shipping expected later this fall in the US, UK and France. Snap's launch release mentions removable prescription inserts, which means the display optics stay the same and a lens clips in behind them. Snap hasn't published a range, an insert price or who makes the inserts. Lensology, a UK insert maker, says on its own site that it is an official provider for Snap's earlier Spectacles; that is Lensology's claim, and it isn't confirmed for Specs. For now, treat Specs as announced with Rx support in principle and details still to come. Tint is a job for the glasses: Snap says the lenses are electrochromic and shift from clear to tinted in 10 seconds.

How to order

  1. Note your full prescription, including cylinder and pupil distance.
  2. Choose the 47 mm or 52 mm size, then check whether Snap's inserts differ by frame size once they are listed.
  3. Watch Snap's Specs pages for the insert range and ordering route before shipping starts.
  4. If you pre-order, confirm the deposit refund terms in case your prescription turns out unsupported.
