2D-to-3D conversion (REAL 3D)
The glasses convert ordinary 2D video or games into stereoscopic 3D on the glasses themselves, with no setup on the source device.[1]
The XREAL 1S and the ROG XREAL R1 can turn ordinary flat video and games into stereoscopic 3D inside the glasses. XREAL calls it the first glasses-side 2D-to-3D conversion: the processing happens in the frame, so the phone, console or laptop sending the picture needs no app or setting. You switch it on from the glasses' menu. It is aimed at people who watch a lot of video or play games on the glasses and want depth without hunting for 3D content. Other XREAL models in our data do not list it.
Where it works
Ten of the biggest markets are shown. A tick needs an official statement for that country; "Not confirmed" means the maker hasn't said either way. For any other country use the lookup.

How it works
Connect the glasses to a source device the usual way, over USB-C or an adapter. Open the glasses' on-screen menu and turn on 3D conversion. Stereoscopic 3D means each eye gets a slightly different image, which your brain reads as depth. Because it runs on the glasses, it works with any source that can output video to them, from a Steam Deck to a laptop. XREAL markets it as plug and play, with no software. XREAL does not publish how the depth estimate is made, so results will vary with the content. XREAL's tutorial gives the menu path: double-click the red X button, go to Spatial Screen, then 3D Mode, and select REAL 3D. There are four intensity levels, from Soft through Natural and Enhanced to Furious.
Turn it on
- Connect the glasses to a source device.
- Turn on 3D conversion from the glasses' on-screen menu (OSD).
Tips
- Try it on a few kinds of content; converted depth suits some scenes better than others.
- Turn it off for text-heavy work such as documents, where depth adds nothing.
- Pair it with Anchor mode so the 3D screen stays put while you watch.
- Update the glasses to the latest firmware first; XREAL's tutorial asks for that before using REAL 3D.
Limits
- Only the XREAL 1S and ROG XREAL R1 list it in our data.
- XREAL does not publish how the conversion works or which content suits it.
- XREAL warns that higher intensity levels may raise power use and heat and cause occasional frame drops.
- XREAL's tutorial says REAL 3D supports One Series glasses, while our table lists only 1S and R1, so check your own model's 3D Mode menu.
