ROG XREAL R1 with prescription lenses
ASUS Republic of Gamers with XREAL offers prescription lenses for ROG XREAL R1 but has not published a range.[1]
R1 is the gaming pair XREAL makes with ASUS ROG, and it ships with a lens frame that holds prescription lenses behind the display. XREAL sells optional R1 prescription lenses in 1.6 or 1.67 index, standard or blue-light-blocking. XREAL doesn't publish the supported range. The higher 1.67 index makes a stronger lens thinner, which helps it sit cleanly in the frame. XREAL sells these as R1 lenses, separate from its One and Air inserts, so don't assume lenses from another XREAL pair will fit.
How to order
- Order R1 prescription lenses from XREAL's store, entering your prescription details.
- Choose 1.6 or 1.67 index and standard or blue-light-blocking coating.
- Fit the lenses into the included lens frame and clip it into the glasses.
- Connect R1 to a supported device, or through the included ROG Control Dock, and check that text is sharp in both eyes.
Watch out for
- No published range, so a very strong prescription is a question to put to XREAL first.
- R1 lenses aren't shared with One series or Air series inserts.
- XREAL says custom lenses can't be returned except for quality issues.
- Text at 240Hz can look slightly softer by design, according to XREAL; don't mistake that for a lens error.
- XREAL's US store lists the box as including a lens frame with non-prescription lenses already fitted. Prescription lenses replace those plain lenses in the frame; they are not stacked behind them.
Questions people ask
Does ROG XREAL R1 come with prescription lenses?
It includes a lens frame, but lenses are optional extras from XREAL's store in 1.6 or 1.67 index.
Can I use XREAL One inserts in R1?
