Samsung and Google’s glasses are expected first: see Samsung smart glasses: release date, countries and phones.

Samsung and Google intelligent eyewear

Google announced Android XR audio glasses with Samsung, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker at I/O 2026, saying they are "coming later this fall" and pair with both Android and iOS phones. They have no display. The Korea Herald reported on 1 October 2026 that a Samsung official confirmed a November launch. Price hasn't been announced. See the Gentle Monster model and the Warby Parker model.

Android XR display glasses

Google has announced display glasses as a second type of Android XR eyewear but gave no date at I/O 2026. Android Authority reported that Google strongly implied none will reach retail before 2027. Details are on our Android XR display glasses page. Kering Eyewear's Gucci-branded glasses, a Google partnership, were reported by Reuters as likely for 2027.

XREAL AURA and Snap Specs

XREAL AURA is announced for fall 2026, built with Google on Android XR. XREAL says the final price will be no more than US$1,500 before tax and is taking deposits. Snap Specs are announced at $2,195, with pre-orders open and shipping expected later this fall in the US, UK and France. Snap began public demos in Los Angeles on 1 October.

Meta's next wave

Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Meta's first camera-free pair, is announced to ship on 13 October 2026 in the US. Meta VR Glasses, a VR device of about 100 grams with a tethered compute puck, are announced for spring 2027 at $1,299.99 in the US.

Apple

Apple has announced nothing. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, as reported by MacRumors, says Apple is targeting a late 2027 release for its first glasses, possibly introduced at WWDC 2027. The reported design has no display and focuses on audio, cameras, Siri and iPhone integration. Our Apple glasses tracker lists each report with its source.
