Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) with prescription lenses

Supported range: -12.00 to +6.00 total power.[1]

Gen 2 is ordered as a complete prescription pair, the same way you buy regular Ray-Bans: the lenses are cut for your eyes and fitted into the smart frame. Meta's help center gives the range as -12.00 to +6.00 total power, meaning sphere and cylinder added together. That covers most myopia and moderate hyperopia. You will still see -6.00 to +4.00 quoted in places; that figure comes from an older Ray-Ban prescription PDF. Meta's help center is the newer page and the official source, so use it. Gen 2 is still listed next to Gen 3 on Ray-Ban's US site, and both share the same broad range for standard frames.

How to order

  1. Add sphere and cylinder from your prescription to get total power, and check it falls between -12.00 and +6.00.
  2. Choose the frame (Wayfarer, Skyler or Headliner) and pick prescription lenses on Ray-Ban.com.
  3. Or take your prescription to a certified optical retailer, who orders the complete pair for you.
  4. Pair the finished glasses in the Meta AI app as you would a non-prescription pair.

Questions people ask

Is the Gen 2 prescription range -6.00 to +4.00 or -12.00 to +6.00?

Meta's help center, the newer and official source, says -12.00 to +6.00 total power. The -6.00 to +4.00 figure is from an older Ray-Ban prescription PDF.

Can an optician add lenses to Gen 2 frames I already own?

The official route is a complete prescription pair from Ray-Ban or a certified optical retailer. Ask a certified retailer what it can do with an existing pair before assuming it can be reglazed.
