Firmware update fails above 50%

Applies to Even G2.

A G2 update that fails after the halfway mark has usually transferred and is stuck installing, so Even's fix starts with the glasses, not the phone. Keep the connection stable and the app in the foreground, then tap each temple TouchPad five times quickly to restart the glasses and retry once they reconnect. If that fails, factory reset from Device Information in the app, forget the glasses in Bluetooth settings, reconnect and try again.

Official steps

  1. Make sure the phone has a stable connection, the app stays open in the foreground, and the app is up to date.
  2. Tap the TouchPad on each temple five times quickly to restart the glasses; once they reconnect, retry the update.
  3. If it still fails, go to Device Information in the app and tap Factory Reset, forget the glasses in phone Bluetooth settings, reconnect to the app, and retry.
  4. If it continues, send support the serial number, app logs (from before and after the issue) and the time and percentage.
