Gemini on glasses/headset
Voice assistant that can use the camera view to answer questions about your surroundings.[1]
Gemini is Google's assistant on Android XR, the platform behind Samsung's Galaxy XR headset and the announced intelligent eyewear from Samsung with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. On Galaxy XR, which is on sale, Gemini is built into the system and works by voice, by looking at things and by gesture, along with Circle to Search. On the glasses, Google describes a camera-aware assistant you talk to: ask about what you see, get directions, translate a conversation. Google says audio glasses launch first, later this fall, with display glasses after. Background is in what is Android XR.

How it works
Google's announcement lists what the glasses will do: answer questions about what is in front of you, such as reviews for a restaurant you pass or a confusing parking sign; give turn-by-turn directions using where you stand and which way you face; translate speech with audio that matches the speaker's tone; take photos by voice and edit them with Nano Banana; and summarize missed messages. Google names Uber and Mondly among app actions. Google says the glasses pair with both Android and iOS phones. Setup steps, supported countries and languages for the glasses are not yet published. To start it, Google says you say "Hey Google" or tap the side of the frame. It also says Gemini can add stops to a route, find nearby restaurants based on your preferences and handle multi-step tasks in the background.
